Castle Neuhaus was first mentioned in historical texts in 1354, and has since changed hands many times. One of its most famous owners  was Joseph Radetzky, a Czech nobleman and famous Austro-Hungarian general, immortalised by Johann Strauss in his work the Radetzky March.
